Shoots & Dragons

A twine game putting the player into the shoes of a thief. Suddenly thrown into a heist gone wrong, the player must navigate the story, their success and choices dependent on their wit and stats.

Wireframe & Prototype

The most difficult part of this project was the coding that went into the stats system and the choices connected to it. Most of the work put into fine-polishing the game went into fixing the code and making sure the game ran smoothly. Keeping track of the passages and the connections between them became harder the more I added, but by the end of it, I was satisfied with the challenges, both story and coding-wise, brought by this project.

Story & Mechanical Ideation

One of the ideas I had since the beginning of this project was implementing a stat system, limiting the player's choices and changing their odds of success based on how they balance their stats. Creating a story and various scenarios revolving around this system took a lot of trial and error, but I managed to implement it well while maintaining the original ideas I had for this choose-your-own-adventure-style project.
